Banning glue traps
Glue traps are adhesive boards that cause prolonged suffering and a slow death for rodents and unintended wildlife. These devices are inhumane and pose a threat to our local ecosystem. Ventura County Voters for Animals is actively working to ban their sale and use across our region. So far Ojai and Ventura have passed bans to protect rodents and other wildlife.
Protections for renters with companion animals
One of the most common reason animals are surrendered to shelters is because of landlord requirements. This makes a person have to face losing a member of the family or the roof over their head. Many renters face unfair barriers or costly fees simply because they live with companion animals. Ventura County Voters for Animals is working with local legislators to increase protections for renters.
